There are currently around 4.3 million Australians who have a disability. In NSW, there are 127,139 people who are covered by NDIS Support as of 30 June 2020. NDIS is the short for National Disability Insurance Scheme. It is an effective national system to provide funding and supports to people with permanent and significant disabilities, all across Australia. The NDIS support is usually provided for a lifetime to individuals who are eligible.
NDIA is the short for National Disability Insurance Agency. This is the government agency responsible for managing the NDIS to ensure that people with disability continue to receive the support they need.

Every person living with a disability is different and hence the different needs. If you are eligible, you will be a ‘NDIS Participant’ receiving ‘NDIS Funding’ on an annual basis to avail ‘NDIS approved services and equipment.
